Just got back from seeing Oliver. WOW what a fabulous production. The whole company were brilliant. Brian Connelly is a masterful Fagin played with humour and pathos The kids were fantastic and the sets amazing. Bullseye the bull terrier was a natural!! I am so glad I saw it at the beginning of the run so that I have time to go again!! Took my daughter for her birthday she says it's the best birthday present she's ever had and she 32!! Well done Mayflower.

What a brilliant show. Could not fault it - superb set, fantastic singing and dancing. The Artful Dodger and Oliver were little stars and Brian Conley an excellent Fagin - not forgetting a wonderful Nancy and menacing Bill Sykes. All in all well worth seeing, especially having been very disappointed with the previous show of Dirty Dancing. Will hopefully see it again.

A fantastic show. I almost cried when Oliver sang Where is love. The whole cast were superb, and Brian Connelly as Fagin with a touch of humour thrown in lightened the mood. I thought the scenery sets were amazing, the music, the songs, the whole show had me singing my way home - Cheerio I'll be back soon.

I have been going to shows at the Mayflower, since it was refurbished in the mid 80's. This has to be one of the best shows I have seen over that period of time. As you would expect the cast headed up by Brian Conley were excellent, but mention must be made of the set design and lighting which were stunning, and added significantly to the overall quality of the show. There are only two musicals that I would see again this show now makes it three!! Well done to everybody.
Stan Stocker
Salisbury
Absolutely fantastic production. The cast excellent, especially Brian Conley. Production values very high and imaginative use of the small Mayflower stage to convey the streets of London.Best musical I've seen in years.
Sarah Wyatt
Southampton
Congratulations to everyone concerned, this production was as good, if not better, than the London production I saw last year with Gryff Reece-Jones as Fagin. The leads were all exceptional, the children and chorus were very talented, costumes and sets were amazing, not forgetting the brilliant orchestra! All in all a fabulous family outing for all ages. Don't miss this chance to see it, its WONDERFUL!!!

We took my mother in law to see Oliver. What an evening. Full of energy, so professional. The children were so well coached and the singing superb. Fagan, Sykes, Oliver and the tiny boy were so wonderful. We all loved Brian in the role. I am booking seats to go again. Thanks you for the show.

Brilliant! My first theatre trip for years and now I'm hooked! Loved the Mayflower. Took my 12 year old son to this performance and he loved it. I wish I could sing like Nancy....wow, what a voice! Bringing my mum along next time as she'd love it too. Best night out in years! Thank you Mayflower and 'Oliver' cast and crew.

Having seen 5 previous productions of "Oliver" this was superb. The whole cast from leads to chorus, especially those brilliant children, were fantastic. Fagin (Brian Conley),gave a superb performance, with wit and humour.Nancy, Bill Sykes et al were impressive in their roles.Congratulations to the whole team, from dressers, set designers, props and all the back stage staff who made the whole show work. It was quite the most outstanding musical show that my sister and I have seen at the Mayflower.Congratulations to the orchestra who did not overwhelm the singing, especially with Oliver and the children. I am sure that the tour will be received enthusiastically at all it's venues.Congratulations everyone!

We went to the show on Wednesday (2nd) and it was wonderful. The entire cast, Fagin, Bill, Nancy, Oliver, Dodger, the kids, were simply great and the stage sets and use of scenery, amazing.
Roy Kimber
Waterlooville
I took my mum and mum-in-law with me as their mothers day present and we had a fantastic time the show was amazing and the cast was brilliant, Brian Conely as Fagin was genius such a great actor, Little Oliver and The artful doger were exceptionaly talented and Nancy can belt out a great tune. Also the little little one is adorable, very cheeky chappy. I agree with Marion above was so much better than Dirty dancing. I would happly go and see that again and again. Fantastic night thank you Mayflower and cast of Oliver. Bravo!!

Was wondering how a show could be this expensive .... but having seen it, now I understand. We were dress circle and it was superb. The huge cast were flawless. Brian Conley was so funny as Fagan and yet so true to the character. Bill's menace! Nancy's voice! Oliver's voice! I couldn't fault a thing. Even Bullseye was in it. And the little chap with the wee-willy-winky hat? Adorable! The thing which knocked me out most was the sets and set changes. Utterly mesmerising. They must have cost a small fortune. Never have 2 and a half hours gone so fast. Congratulations on an amazing show. Hope I can see it again one day when my toddler is older. PS Bill Sykes leaning out of the window of the back of the theatre after we had left, shouting at us was a HUGE bonus! My 6 year old loved it! Thanks! (understand if you want to edit this bit out!) :-)

Bournemouth
I love the theatre and have been to see many, but very very disappointed. It was a little smutty and the humour was awful! My daughter and myself left at half time... Totally over rated ! Fagan was the only one who could act.. would not recommend at all... sorry The kids were great though.. they should have stuck with the original story and not tried to make it funny? we were baffled.

Well done to all involved. This is , without doubt one of the very very best shows I have ever had the privilege to watch. Superb show, the whole cast were great, amazing set, Brian Connelly was ace - loved the dog. I used to go and see every show at the Mayflower but found the musicals were all the 'same' in a funny sort of way so I am more selectve now. I would recommend Oliver to all age groups - the best show I have seen in a while.

Everything was brilliant,acting,scenery,dancing,singing....don't know how you got so many people on the stage at one time without a mishap. The only criticism I have is that the sound was bad where we were sitting, sometimes the words of the songs were unitelligable(umpapah for example)...back row upper circle...serves us right foe going cheap I guess smile

I took my Mum and my Daughter and we all thoroughly enjoyed it, my daughters 9 and it was her first time to a theatre and she sat with her mouth open for the majority!! A well done performance by all involved, every character was brought to life excellently and the singing was superb, especially Nancy singing As long as he needs me, gave me goosebumps fantastic. Bill was very menacing, Oliver and Dodger wonderful, and Brian Conley's Fagin absolutely fantastic, had us all in stitches, all in all a wonderful production, just wish we could afford to go again, well done one and all. What a superb show; the entire cast and production team pulled out all the stops. Brian Conley brings his own comedic twist to Fagin, equalling the great Ron Moody and Rowan Atkinson both of whom I've had the privilege to see over the years. A thoroughly enjoyable experience. I would recommend this show to everyone.

Had a thoroughly good evening. Tremendous production with incredibly slick childrens' routines. Just slightly marred by overpowering orchestra volume in a couple of the chorus and ensemble numbers which was a shame. But overall well worth attending!

Just a great Show. Cast put all they had to give into it. Loved them all. But what can one say about the Little One. Think he just stole every-one's hearts. This was a show I had treated my Daughter and daughter-in-law to, both very happy on the way home. Thank you all

I treated my husband to see the show Oliver as he is a great fan of the musical Oliver with Ron Moody. He was absolutely enthralled and thoroughly enjoyed it. The set designs were magnificent and the changes between scenes were done before our eyes without us realising it as our attention was kept by the characters on stage. I even cried when Oliver was re-united with Mr Brownlow. Congratulations to all involved with this production. Absolutely Brilliant!!!!!!!!
Helen Exton
Portsmouth
Wow,where to start? Absolutly brilliant. We were lucky enough to be on the very front row as we booked a year ago so being so close up was amazing. Oliver was incredible as were all the children. Bill Sykes was brilliant too. Just one point,we did have trouble understanding Nancy and Dodger quite a lot of the time so missed a lot of what was said but this didnt detract from it as the story is so familiar. Otherwise, simply superb.

Fantastic show, worth the money! Cat Simmons and Brian Conely were an amazing contribution to the show and the singing throughout the performance was mind-blowing. the whole cast really did the show justice. The lighting, set and sound enhanced the entire show. everybody involved should feel proud with what they can achieve.

Just got home from seeing the wonderful production of OLIVER. It was by far the best show that I have seen at The Mayflower. The whole cast were brilliant - the children in the production definately did themselves proud. Well done to everyone for a fantastic SHOw

We loved the production and the staging, Brian Conley stole the show and was excellent. I feel it is a shame that the boy playing Oliver did not have a proper treble register and resorted to shouting - In fact none of the boys seemed to have a pure treble - this works for Artful Dodger, but we really do need a sweet singing voice for Oliver. This aside, a wonderful show, well worth the money.

Just got in. Absolutely outstanding by everyone and the scenery changes amazing. One criticism. I have seen a few musicals at the Mayflower over the years and have found the sound system at times a little bit loud/harsh.

It's hard to add to all that has been said but I thought this was the most incredible show I've seen for a long time. We are all so familiar with Ron Moody's interpretation of Fagin and I was somewhat wary as to what to expect from Brian Conley but I was not disappointed. He was incredible and so natural. He definitely put his own stamp on the role. The slickness of the whole production is what one should expect from all productions. Aspiring actors and stage managers would learn so much from studying this production. The children were so full of life and obviously enjoying themselves, having so much fun. There are not enough superlatives to describe the experience. Thank you so much to all concerned.

We have just arrived home from seeing Oliver. What a tremendous production and a magnificant cast. We are used to Brian Conley delivering a star performance whenver he is on stage, but congratulations to the entire comapny. We visit the Mayflower often and are rarely disappointed. We would rate Oliver up there with some of the best. Thank you to all.

Just got in from seeing the most fantastic show. Everyone in the cast was brilliant, Brian Conley stole the show. The scene changes were fantastic but you didn't see them happen because there was always something else going on. I can't praise the production enough. Congratulations to everyone involved.

The four of us who regularly visit the Mayflower all agreed Oliver was one of the top shows seen over the years. The cast, music, scenery, indeed the whole production was top drawer. We all know Brian Conley is one of, if not the best all round entertainer we have.He went out and proved it again in Oliver. Ten out of ten.

The production itself was wonderful. The depiction of Dickens' London (Clerkenwell in particular which is where I grew up) was awesome. The children, especially when playing Fagin's little gang, were stupendous. Nancy really brilliant. But, oh dear, why did Brian Conley reduce it to a panto by all those bits of business. I haven't seen the show before so I don't know if this little ego-trip is in Bart's original, but I very much doubt it. Conley as Buttons - great. Conley as Fagin - no. I'd like to see the show again, because it really was remarkable, but without this particular Fagin.

What can I say. Fabulous, outstanding, marvelous, perfection, awesome, The film was very touching when seen on TV and felt the same watching this performance. Brian was superb and comical and such a fantastic actor. Nancy well, didn't see her in the bill but what an actress and she sang just like Nancy in the film. Her voice was touching. Bill well you rotten sod but brilliant. The list continues. The children well I expect they were tired but brilliant. If you were one of my children then I would be a proud mummy. Congratulations and you saved me travelling up to London to spend all the extra I don@t have.

I thought the show was mesmerising. So often even West End productions turn out to be something rather like a sixth form school production. Not this one!!! It was different. I thought the acting, singing, stage direction and choreography were outstanding. The diction was as clear as a bell. The settings and scene changes were slick. Everyone was a strong individual actor and I would like to thank every actor, dancer and everyone involved for a great show.
