Derek Deane’s lavish production of Swan Lake was premiered in 2000 as a re-working of his hugely successful arena production. Praised by critics and audiences alike, this wonderfully traditional production is sure to capture the hearts of all who see it.
Swan Lake brings the romance and high drama of the grand Russian tradition alive. Perhaps the most famous of all ballets, it tells the story of Prince Siegfried’s powerful love for the Swan Queen, Odette, and their battle against the evil magician, Rothbart.
Set to Tchaikovsky’s most famous score played by the full Orchestra of English National Ballet - which undoubtedly features some of the most beautiful music in the classical ballet repertoire - the dramatic story line, spectacular sets and costumes and technically brilliant dancing from the Company’s 64 dancers make this ballet unmissable.
