Myself and my daughter saw the show last night. Not quite sure how to describe it! Some of the characters were a little "over the top" in a big, theatrical way, which I wasn't used to, having mainly been to musicals before! Having seen the TV production, I was aware of the storyline, which was good, as it would have been very hard to follow if it was the first time a person had seen it. My main criticism was the fact that the scenery NEVER changed! It was set against the backdrop of Satis House, even when Pip was supposed to be in the blacksmiths, or in London, or even on a boat in the Thames! It was very strange - they utilised a large table as part of the scenery, with people even acting out a scene standing on the mantlepiece! Very odd. Would have preferred to see completely different scenes, even if it was very simple. The ending was very sudden - the lights went up, and everyone sort of looked at each other, as if to say "has it finished"?? So all in all, not one of my favourite productions!

Very very good. Highly unusual for the staging to remain the same throughout. Estella a little difficult to hear when the performance began. Normally I would have read the book and gathered my own 'interpretation' before seeing the play or film. This one escaped me at school so now I am ordering the book from the library. The main characters were excellent, needless to say, Paula Wilcox never disappoints. We both enjoyed the performance enormously.

Very clever somewhat tim burtonesque at times was deff enjoyable but a little quiet at times and a little abrupt at interval and end. Young pip was fantastic.
