Disability Access and Equal Opportunities Policies
Assisted Access Policy
The Disability Discrimination Act requires all service providers including The Mayflower to plan ahead to meet the requirements of their disabled customers. Where necessary and reasonable, service providers must adjust the way they provide their services so that disabled people can use them.
The Mayflower Theatre is firmly committed to enabling all our patrons to participate in our events equally and with dignity and respect.
Equal Opportunities Policy
The Theatre recognises that discrimination is unacceptable and has made the decision to adopt a formal equal opportunities policy. Breaches of the policy may lead to disciplinary proceedings and if appropriate, disciplinary action.
Website Accessibility Policy
To mirror our efforts in other areas, we have attempted to make this website as widely accessible as possible, to as many people and methods of accessing the site as possible. The whole website contained within 'www.mayflower.org.uk' strives to be W3C WCAG - AAA Compliant (World Wide Web Consortium, Web Accessibility Initiative, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, Triple-A compliant) - meaning we check it against the highest level of web accessibility standard.
This is checked by the Watchfire WebXACT program, which helps identify potential problems with the site (especially for access aids such as screen readers); but it is not infallible, so if you find any parts of the website difficult to use, navigate or understand, please let us know, so we can continuously improve access to our website.
