Mayflower Theatre is the largest independent theatre in the south of the UK.

We present a mixture of spectacular touring productions, from musicals - many direct from the West End – to dance, opera, drama, ballet and comedy. We are run as a charitable trust and we don’t receive funding from any external bodies, so all the money generated from tickets sales goes straight back into keeping the theatre alive.
The successful applicant will be expected to provide technical support for get-ins, fit-ups and get-outs, as required by the Technical/Stage Manager or Chief LX. The post requires early mornings, evenings and weekends on a casual basis. The post holder will be required to attend staff training sessions.
Salary: £8.69 per hour basic. UK theatre load out rates apply to this post.

Job Details: To participate in the smooth running of fit-ups, get-ins, rehearsals, performances, changeovers and get-outs. To be able to function in any appropriate position as part of show crew (Stage, Flys, LX, Followspot, Sound). To participate in the cleaning and maintenance of all technical areas and equipment. To assist with the maintenance of facilities throughout the building. To assist with seating layouts and orchestra pit configuration. To attend technical department meetings as required. To consider and bring to the attention of the Stage Manager/Chief LX any health and safety issues that arise in respect of the visiting productions. To deliver a professional service to visiting companies by working to the best of your abilities at all times.
Requirements: Proven experience of working within a technical area of the live entertainment industry. Good working knowledge of all aspects of technical theatre with an in depth knowledge of at least one of the following: LX, AV, Automation, Sound, rigging or staging. Experience of working on large scale get in/fit up crews. Hours of work will be varied including unsociable hours and weekends, so flexibility is essential. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure both individually and as part of a team.
