Saturday Night Fever - Our Review

A few weeks ago our Marketing Campaign team went to visit Woking to see Saturday Night Fever ahead of its arrival in Southampton next week! Here are our thoughts:

Saturday Night Fever tells the story, from the famous film, of Tony Manero who escapes the harsh realities of working-class Brooklyn when he embarks on a reckless, yet thrilling road to dancing success.

Richard Winsor beautifully portrays both Tony’s reckless and vulnerable sides and has perfected the famous John Travolta strut!  All the supporting cast were good, especially the two female leads playing Annette and Stephanie.

As you would expect from a show set in 1970's Brooklyn, this show stays true to the gritty attitudes of the time and includes adult themes such as suicide, loss of faith and rejection.

The dancing was infectious prompting a few audience members to leap to their feet for the Bee Gees megamix at the end. Those who love the film and Bee Gees music will not be disappointed.

I am definitely planning on coming again with my family when it arrives next week!
