Mayflower Theatre Update


A message from our Chief Executive:

As challenging times continue for all of us, and following the lockdown restrictions that are now in place, I am sorry to confirm that all performances and Engage activity up to the end of March 2021 will not be going ahead.

Please can I ask customers not to call the box office directly as we will be in contact with all affected customers in due course to inform you if your show is being rescheduled or cancelled. 

This is not the situation that we thought we would be in at the beginning of 2021, and it is frustrating that we are unable to reopen, however, the safety of our customers, staff and visiting companies comes first. 

I am immensely proud of the Mayflower Theatre team who prepared the theatre to reopen safely at Christmas with socially distanced performances. The feedback from the 3,500 customers who enjoyed Sleeping Beauty over our brief run was tremendous and it was a delight to see families enjoying live theatre once again.

I fear that 2021 will continue to be a challenge for our theatre and we will continue to follow government guidance and look forward to reopening as soon as we can.

Once again we are grateful to those customers who have either taken gift vouchers or donated their money to the theatre for cancelled shows. Your generosity is appreciated by all my colleagues.

This advice applies to all bookings made direct with Mayflower Theatre. If you booked through a third party agency (Ticketmaster, See Tickets etc.) please contact them directly.

Can I still buy tickets for other shows?

Yes! Tickets are on sale online for all available shows. We can't wait to open our doors once again to welcome you back into the building. With great new shows such as Sister Act, Anything Goes and The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe now on sale for 2021 to look forward to, you can still treat yourself or your loved ones to live theatre.

I want to help support Mayflower Theatre – how do I go about that?

This is a challenging time for the arts industry and as an independent charity we receive no regular public funding, relying on support of our audiences to deliver our life-enhancing work both on stage and through our Mayflower Engage community and education activities. Your donation will help to support us, protect the theatre for people now and in the future and you can do this online.

The show I have booked has been rescheduled – what should I do?

If the show you booked tickets for has been rescheduled your booking still stands and your tickets and seats are valid for the new date. You do not need to do anything further.

The show I have booked has been cancelled – what should I do?

All ticket bookers will receive a Gift Voucher for the full value of your booking via email in due course. This voucher can be put towards any future bookings at Mayflower Theatre.

If you need a refund please follow the instructions in the email you receive.
Emails are being sent a week or so ahead of the performance dates. Please be patient, we have a lot to work through. If we do not have your email address we will be in contact with you in due course.

The show I am booked to see isn’t listed above – what should I do?

We are updating this information on a regular basis, please do check back again soon to see if the information you require has been updated. All ticket bookers will be contacted with information directly related to the shows they have booked and our social media will be regularly updated.

What happens if I have booked extras? 

If you have booked a prepaid meal in Ovation Restaurant, Afternoon Tea, Cheese and Wine platter, VIP package or a programme this will be refunded to gift vouchers separately and we will be in contact via email in due course.

AUDITORIUM APPEAL
