Synopsis

Mayflower Theatre are delighted to support the Re:Claim festival as a ticket agent for Arboria: Luminarium.

Welcome to a wonderful world of light and colour in the stunning Arboria Luminarium at Re:Claim on Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th September in East Park, Southampton.

A luminarium is a dazzling maze of winding paths and soaring domes where natural forms, Islamic architecture, Archimedean solids and Gothic cathedrals meld into an inspiring mix of design and engineering. Enter the luminarium and be moved to a sense of wonder.

The Arboria Luminarium by Architects of Air is inspired by the nature found within our city centre parks, and the balance they give to our streets. Wellbeing and calmness are at the centre of this incredibly beautiful immersive art installation.

Lose yourself in sensory bliss as you journey through a maze of winding paths and inspiring domes, – and of course grab those oh so important insta moments!
Since 1992 more than 3 million visitors in over 40 countries across 5 continents have been welcomed into Architects of Air’s monumental luminaria, immersed in radiant colour that comes simply from daylight shining through the luminarium’s fabric.

About the Arboria Luminarium
Arboria is dedicated to the theme of ‘trees’. Trees are found both in structural forms and in stunning graphic representation on the surfaces.
Arboria’s sound experience originated in the Ecuadorian Cloud Forest where musician and soundscape ecologist, Alice Eldridge, made recordings for biodiversity monitoring. Alice has added her own piano composition to the forest and wildlife sounds
