Starting Summer 2026

Assemble is a creative programme for D/deaf, Disabled, Learning Disabled and Neurodivergent young people aged 18 – 25 years.

Assemble aims to create systemic change in how the creative sector recruits, supports and retains D/deaf, disabled and neurodivergent talent. Building awareness of creative opportunities at inclusive cultural venues and leading to new sustainable career paths across the creative industries for young disabled people.

What is Assemble?

Assemble helps young people take steps towards creative careers. Supporting young adults (18 – 25) to:

  • Learn new skills
  • Feel safe and confident
  • Meet new people who work in the arts
  • Try real work experience
  • See what creative jobs are like
  • Find next steps after the programme

This is an opportunity to be part of a skills development programme for participants looking to explore potential career pathways into the cultural sector.

It is also for young adults aged between 18 – 30 years who would like to be trained as a Creative Support Worker and support participants on their journey with us.

The programme consists of a combination of workshops and work experience developing the skills that are required to work within four departments within our venues. These departments are Front of House, Marketing, Technical Theatre and Participation. This programme is delivered in conjunction with Minstead Trust and Blue Apple Theatre.

Assemble is led by National Youth Theatre and funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.
