In a city rocked by rebellion, a fierce civil war has caused a devastating divide.
King Creon, newly crowned, desperately clings to power by heartlessly denying a proper burial for Antigone’s unruly brother, Polynices. Furious, Antigone defies the King to honour her fallen brother, yet Creon’s resistance risks angering the gods.
Set against the backdrop of an alternate Britain, Mayflower Young Company performs a contemporary spin on Sophocles’ gripping classic, Antigone.
