Are you an artist or a company with a brilliant idea but aren’t sure where to start? We’re here to provide the support you need to make it happen.
Our artist surgeries are an opportunity for members of the Artist Network to gain advice and feedback from a member of the Mayflower Artist Development team. We are pleased to be partnering with local artists to host surgery days to offer a different perspective, wealth of knowledge and practical advice from their own lived experience.
We are delighted that artist Lorna Rees will be hosting this surgery day. Lorna can offer guidance on:
- Outdoor work
- Performance art in public spaces
- Dramaturgy
- Live art
- Creating multidisciplinary work
- Science and environmentally-focused work and working with experts
Lorna will be offering 30-minute bookable slots on Wednesday 7 October at Mayflower Studios. Slots will be first-come, first-served so book now to avoid disappointment.

About the artist
Lorna Rees
Lorna Rees is a multidisciplinary Live Artist who makes innovative work for the outdoors. She tours nationally and internationally, with performance and sound inspired by earth science, landscape, the environment and folk. Major works include: CLOUDSCAPES, EAR TRUMPET, GEOPHONIC and CANOPY, but she occasionally performs as the self-appointed High Priestess of Pop. Lorna is Associate Artist for Inside Out Dorset Festival and is Co-Chair of Outdoor Arts UK. She runs Lorna Rees Company and is co-founder of Dorset-based Gobbledegook Theatre.
