Event details

Is it possible to transform a simple London flower girl into a Duchess? Should Professor Higgins even try?  After all, his reputation is at stake. And what will ultimately become of young Eliza? Will her dreams of working as a lady in a flower shop come true, or will she end up back on the streets of Covent Garden?

This lovingly crafted adaptation of Shaw’s classic play takes a humorous yet poignant look at gender stereotypes, the hollowness of the British class system and social mobility in the mid 1920s, and explores the question… is it at all wise to try and fundamentally change someone?

A tale of male manipulation and female self-discovery, this story is as relevant today as it was when first staged over a hundred years ago.

“The difference between a lady and a flower girl is not how she behaves, but how she’s treated.”
