Acts

The SCALES. Set during the Klondike Gold Rush of 1899, a conman descends into madness, believing he’s discovered a talking fish. A spiritual journey with themes of fake news, abandoned motherhood, and karma. Ex-filmmakers, Guy and Nina, embrace their ambion to create a story for theatre. This is their first aempt at theatre, and have been supported by a wonderfully talented team, including the actor, Guy Henry.
‘Keeper’ is a sharp, darkly funny new performance adapted from a series of short stories by writer Anmarie Bowler. Adapted and brought to life on stage by Rob Thompson, Hillard Morley, and Kat Burton, the piece follows a quick-witted, battle-worn housekeeper juggling family and work in a world of second homes and domestic chaos. Set in a cramped flat shared with her mother and daughter, Keeper explores themes of class, care, and what it really means to call somewhere home – with humour, grit, and a defiant edge. Anmarie is the founder & editor of ‘Brevity’, The Isle of Wight’s Literary Handbill, a zine showcasing the best flash fiction from Island writers.
Written by Sally Lewis An informal conversation with a female Special Operation Executive (SOE) Agent led to the development of this play. Things She Never Said explores the life of a female agent during and after the war, the consequences of signing the Official Secrets Act and the mental effects of duty, secrecy and betrayal. Post- traumatic stress, loyalty, and trauma are key themes in this play.
