What we do

At Mayflower, our vision is to be recognised nationally in providing inspiring experiences.

Mayflower Theatre and Mayflower Studios are both run as charitable trusts. As charities, we aim to:

  • Preserve and maintain our venues for the community.
  • Provide a diverse programme of quality arts experiences.
  • Be valuable to the community and local cultural offering.
  • Serve as creative hubs and centres of excellence for culture in Southampton.
  • At Mayflower Studios, be community led with engagement and consultation at the heart.

Mayflower Youth Theatre and our other Engage and Community events provide a diverse programme of quality arts experiences.

To achieve our aims, we:

  • Present shows and events from large-scale West End productions to smaller-scale community projects
  • Offer exciting opportunities for children, young people, students, schools, colleges and community groups
  • Provide bespoke creative workshops, events and backstage tours
  • Offer a Higher Education Subsidy Scheme for those wishing to pursue a career in the arts
  • Work closely with many different organisations to deliver community-based projects that are accessible
  • Run training programmes designed to nurture and inspire young performers in Southampton
  • Support budding and seasoned artists to develop their craft through a series of events and schemes
  • And so much more…
