We create exciting opportunities for children, young people and students for primary and secondary schools as well as local colleges & community groups, either at the theatre or in your own setting.

Offering bespoke creative workshops, events and backstage tours of the theatre that are tailor made for your school.

You may also wish to combine your theatre experience with show tickets.

Creative Careers

We offer extended workshops and conferences for young people exploring a range of creative careers, in particular non-performance based careers. 

We draw on the expertise within the theatre in Marketing, Film & Media, Lighting, Sound, Digital & Social Media, Theatre Making and Make-up. These exciting sessions are delivered by a range of theatre professionals.

This is a free regular networking event for teachers, lecturers, home educators, group leaders & arts organisations to catch up, meet local colleagues and find out more about all of our exciting activities planned at Mayflower Theatre and MAST Mayflower Studios. Plus advice on access, parking, risk assessments and theatre visits.

Work Experience & Apprenticeships

Starting a career in the Arts

Each year we run a Creative Careers Conference designed for ages 13-17. This is an opportunity to go ‘behind the scenes’ of a cultural & creative industry and discuss new and alternative routes in to the Creative Arts. These events will draw on the expertise within our theatre; ranging from marketing, sales, and technical.

 

Higher Education Bursaries

The Mayflower Theatre’s Higher Education Bursary Scheme is open to all young people who have the aspiration to follow a career in theatre, whether as a performer, a technician or an arts administrator. To qualify, you must be aged between 16 - 25 years old and reside in Hampshire.

The Bursary Scheme is now open at the following times:

February - April 2023 (Notification by June 2023)
October – December 2023 (Notification by March 2024)

AUDITORIUM APPEAL

We will be undertaking a refurbishment of our Grade II listed auditorium in summer 2018. Please consider a donation to our auditorium appeal. Your help is essential in securing our future.
